Who am I?

20150405-222712.jpg

A girl who simply loves good food! I have struggled with weight and high colesterol throughout my childhood and slightly into my adult years, and when I was ready to switch to a healthy lifestyle, I became obsessed with only seeing quick results with my weight loss. Unfortunately, that drove me into taking drastic measures such as purchasing multiple diet pills, the salad diet, thoughts of plastic surgery and liposuction, and even starvation! Terrible right? Luckily the light bulb in my brain slowly started functioning, and after multiple experiments and failures, I finally got it! And the most amusing part was that the solution was so easy! Eating clean whole foods and a regular exercise regiment was the key towards reaching my goals. So far I have brought my fat mass down to a healthy percentile and have gained lean muscle mass, as well as other minor improvements like brighter and acne free skin, higher energy levels, and a stronger immune system. I am 100% gluten free and pescatarian, so I will be posting healthy and delicious gluten free recipes, some Palaeolithic foods, and pescatarian recipes. Hopefully I can make your tummies happy!

Looking forward to receiving your posts on my reader. I’ve gradually become this health-conscious person too and it’s a constant battle between me being a foodie mind and being aware of what I eat! I really like the kinda non-“in your face”ness of your healthy eating and really admire your (from lack of a better word to describe it but) “healthy” attitude towards food and diet 🙂

    • Valerie Azinge April 15, 2016 at 1:46 pm #

Aww thank you for the kind words! I believe healthy eating should be fun and something to look forward to, not dreading that you have to eat a salad when you really want steak and potatoes…just eat a lean steak with sweet potatoes or a healthier version of mashed potatoes!😁

      • C. Lau April 15, 2016 at 1:56 pm #

I have exactly the same opinion! I don’t want people to think healthy food has to taste horrible and can only consist of seeds, kale and quinoa. I genuinely want everyone to know you can make really nice food that’s totally good for you too! A big task but one recipe at a time I guess haha:)
