Hey guys!!! Who is World Cup ready?!? I know I am because I’ve got my flag, snacks and anger pills prepped just in case I am compelled to yell at the screen (haha kidding), but I’m definitely excited to watch!

Now back to this green smoothie. Now that we have transitioned into the summer season, our skin has to adapt to the changes in the environment. It has to deal with dust, allergies, humidity etc which could cause excess oil production, acne and general discomfort (I’m a victim of all three). Although there are facial cleansers and masks that can assist your skin with overcoming these issues that are caused by the change in the weather, it is also beneficial to assist with the cleansing naturally and internally.

Although this green smoothie contains fiber, protein and vitamin enriched ingredients, the main ingredients that stand out are the strawberries and blueberries!

Strawberries are rich in vitamin C. They are an excellent and natural skin cleanser/toner. Strawberries also improves complexion, has anti-aging properties, and also protects the skin from ultra violet rays, which is very helpful during this season.

Blueberries also have amazing nutrients which are beneficial to maintaining healthy skin. Blueberries are rich in vitamin A and C, and also contain antioxidants. Whether you suffer from acne, broken capillaries or splotchy skin, the nutrients in blueberries will help. Although acne is typically attributable more to hormones than to the physical condition of your skin, certain nutrients can counteract the hormonal conditions which encourage pimples. Many of the vitamins in blueberries may neutralize or normalize oil levels in your skin, making it healthier and less likely to accumulate sebum (glands in the skin that secrete an oily or waxy matter.) Vitamin A, in particular, is used in a variety of acne-related skin treatments.

Incorporate these amazing berries into your diet this summer and bring yourself one step closer to beautiful and amazing skin!
